Substance abuse is a way of coping with the world that has become problematic. Asking for help for substance abuse can be a scary experience. Most people have mixed feelings about going into therapy. Issues of privacy and anonymity are often barriers to seeking help. At Life Guidance Center sensitivity to client concerns is a primary focus placing emphasis on maintaining confidentiality in a safe environment.
For Substance abuse, no single treatment is appropriate for all. Treatment goals are personalized to help meet the individual needs of each client. Whether your goal is abstinence or moderation management, our focus is on increasing insight, awareness and motivation to achieve behavioral change.
Evidenced –based practices are provided to assist client in reaching their goal. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, 12 Step Facilitation along with Relapse Prevention Tools are offered including social skills training, anger and stress management. Integrated spiritual needs are addressed and developed.
In addition, couples and family therapy are available and encouraged to help develop a primary support system. Overcoming Substance abuse is a process that requires a Continuing Care Plan that encourages healthy lifestyle choices that support improved functioning and overall quality of living.
